A facsimile of the London, 1745 title page, without imprint, appears on p. [ix] and reads: A description of Greenland: showing the natural history, situation, boundaries, and face of the country; the nature of the soil; the rise and progress of the old Norwegian colonies; the ancient and modern inhabitants; their genius and way of life, and produce of the soil; their plants, beasts, fishes, etc. By Hans Egede, missionary in that country for twenty-five years. Translated from the Danish

"A Greenlandic song, composed by Frederick Christian, a native", p. 158-164, is without music and gives a description of the performance

"Of their language", p. 165-178, gives a small glossary of Kalâtdlisut dialect words as well as a discussion of grammar; the three articles of faith and the Lord's prayer are also translated into the Greenlandic language
